Castelo de Vide today is a living town inside the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, known as “the Sintra of the Alentejo”.

The Judiaria is still inhabited; the castle, synagogue, and old bathhouse are now visitable or museum spaces.

A network of hiking trails — GR41, PR1, PR3, PR5 — links the built heritage to the surrounding hills.

It is also a natural gateway to the wider cross-border region, with Marvão and Ammaia close at hand.
